David Robins works with a contractor repairing planes for the army. He is two weeks into a five week leave from Afghanistan and he has traveled about 30 hours and nearly five thousand miles in the skies.
His journey started in 2009 when he bought and restored his plane. Robins excitement for planes started at a young age. His father introduced him to flying when he was 5 years old.
Robins was planning to fly from Mojave California to Florida but a storm caused him to detour north where he made his way to Old Town Maine.
Robins next stop is Virginia. Then he will fly to Florida and on to Colorado.
