The Larimer County District Attorney's Office charged Joel Ledermann with Fourth Degree Arson.
Investigators say Ledermann was burning grass, leaves and small branches at his home when the fire got out of control.
The fire consumed 740 acres. Firefighters contained it on Sept. 16. Two homes and a handful of out buildings were destroyed.
Ledermann could face up to six years in jail if convicted.
His attorney says Ledermann will turn himself into authorities, according to the Larimer County District Attorney's Office.
