Crews had contained 25 percent of the fire by Friday night and hoped to increase that to 50 percent by Saturday morning.
The fire started Friday morning and quickly grew as high winds drove the flames through the pine trees and grasses. More than 200 homes were evacuated, but residents of all but roughly 20 homes were allowed to go home by evening.
Twelve homes and six other buildings were threatened by the fire, but none has been damaged.
An air tanker has been used to drop fire retardant on the flames and a helicopter has been ordered to help crews Saturday.
