Tech leaders worry about effect hackers could have on Election Day

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Silicon Valley leaders are mentally preparing for a cyberattack on Election Day. Is it a serious threat? Or no big deal?

Adam D'Angelo, Facebook's former chief technology officer and founder of Quora, tweeted on Sunday his concerns of a major internet attack that could disrupt the election.

“Good chance of major internet attack Nov 8th,” D’Angelo wrote. “Many groups have the ability and incentive. Maps outage alone could easily skew the election.”

Other notable Silicon Valley names jumped in on the conversation. Sequoia venture capitalist Mike Vernal called D’Angelo’s suggestion a "scary thought."
