Report: How DIA fares compare to 10 biggest airports

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Of the nation's top 10 busiest airports, Denver International Airport has the lowest average air fares.

That's according to new government statistics released Tuesday, which indicate that the average DIA air fare in the third quarter was $324. Of the top 10 airports, New York's JFK International Airport had the highest average fares, at $431.

Nationally, the average airfare has fallen to $372, which is the lowest level since 2010, adjusted for inflation, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation Bureau of Transportation Statistics.
