Victim identified in Loveland train crash

LOVELAND - Loveland Police have identified the man who was struck and killed by a southbound train late Friday night.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroadofficials called authorities shortly before 11 p.m. Friday to report that a pedestrian who had been walking on the train tracks between 37th and 29th streets had been hit. The man had been walking by the tracks before wandering onto the tracks. The train applied its emergency brakes to try to stop, but it was too late, authorities said in news release.

Emergency responders found the man under the train.

No additional information will be released.
