Boulder's Tube to Work Day hits the creek

BOULDER - Who needs a bike when you have a tube?

Boulder's seventh installment of Tube to Work Day encourages=d commuters to take the wet way to work on Tuesday.

Starting at 8 a.m. at Eben G. Fine Park at Third Street and Canyon Boulevard, participants hopped into their tubes and made their way down Boulder Creek in their business attire.

The event began in 2008 when two men decided to tube to work. In 2013, 30 people decided to sit in a tube and commute.

Usually the event happens around Boulder's Bike to Work Day, but the creek was too high to tube at that time of year.

The City of Boulder sponsored a breakfast station off the creek near Broadway.
