Woman dies of cardiac arrest in RMNP

ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK – A 67-year-old woman died of cardiac arrest Tuesday afternoon on Trail Ridge Road.

It happened at a vehicle pull-out about a half mile west of the Forest Canyon Overlook – at an elevation of roughly 11,800 feet.

The woman was with family members when she died, according to a news release. Her name and hometown will not be released until her next of kin are notified.

A park spokesperson says the death was not lightning related. Two people were killed and more than a dozen injured in two separate lightning strikes over the past week.
