Lamoure residents are very familiar with the fishy situation as the river runs through their town.
According to officials with the North Dakota Game and Fish, reports of dead fish are from Lamoure to Oakes. The reason is believed to be the heat.
Fish like Northerns especially can't survive in water warmer than 85 degrees. Dead fish have also been reported in Hankinson.
Officials say there could be more dead fish showing up the next few days because of the hot weather.
