Lawmakers saddle up for Rocky Mountain Horse Expo

DENVER - Denver is going back in time on Friday to the days of the Wild West.

State lawmakers plan to saddle-up and ride through downtown Denver on a Trail Ride from the State Capitol to the National Western Complex.

Speaker Terrance Carroll (D-Denver), President Peter Groff (D-Denver) and State Representative Wes McKinley (D-Walsh) plan to participate in the two hour ride by either riding a horse or in a stagecoach.

Once at the National Western Complex, lawmakers will take part in horse-riding lessons and other activities.

The Old West ride is mean to celebrate Colorado's western culture and promote the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo which runs from Friday to Sunday.
