CENTENNIAL - When a local family needed a house, the community came forward to help. ![]() The Warren family has had its share of challenges. Christina Warren is recovering from a recent liver transplant, after battling cancer. Her son, Max, suffers from autism. A local nonprofit, Opportunity in Living, worked to help out the family by getting the house for a lower price. "We are just so blessed and just so thankful for these people," Christina Warren said. "They are who definitely got us through." The house is not move-in-ready quite yet. A Littleton Church is helping with getting the house ready for the Warrens, with everything from a new roof to landscaping. Crews are expected to continue working on the house next weekend. The family hopes to move in to their new home at the end of November. Opportunity in Living (OIL) is a nonprofit organization approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Development (HUD), to help low and moderate income buyers purchase homes at a savings. OIL is able to do this by buying homes at a discounted rate, and then passing on the savings to buyers who meet specific criteria. (Copyright KUSA*TV, All Rights Reserved)
