WHEAT RIDGE - After spotting suspicious people behind a medical marijuana dispensary early Friday morning, police set a perimeter in hopes of catching the suspects. ![]() The Wheat Ridge Police Department says around 5 a.m. officers patrolling in the area of 44th Avenue and Garrison Street noticed an SUV backed up to the building that houses A Kind Place Medical Pot Dispensary. When officers approached, the suspects took off on foot, leaving the SUV behind. Police soon learned that the vehicle had been stolen in Arvada. After a K-9 unit arrived, police set up a perimeter but were unable to locate any of the would-be burglars. Since no one was found and no surveillance video is available police have little information about who was involved. Lisa Stigall with the police department says many pot dispensaries do not leave inventory in the building because of issues with burglaries. No one was hurt in the incident and police did not release any additional details. Anyone with information should contact the Wheat Ridge Police Department. (Copyright KUSA*TV, All Rights Reserved)
