DENVER - A Saturday morning is prime time for a workout or for looking for a home. Then again, you could combine the two. ![]() Denver Realtor David Lampe is hoping to combine the two by taking his clients on a short run during their showings. "I love to run and I've done several races," Lampe said. Lampe got the idea when he recently bought his home after running around the neighborhood. "That just made me think, wouldn't it be a great idea to actually go and show the houses by running when they're in the same neighborhood and close enough to do that," Lampe said. Before you think there's no way you could keep up, remember he's trying to make a sale, so it's all done at your speed. "We keep the pace fairly slow so I could point out things in the neighborhood, stores, restaurants, and schools. Also, I try to keep the houses not too far apart, usually no more than a mile or so apart, so it doesn't take us all day to run around and see a few houses," Lampe said. He has yet to sell that first property to a runner, and while he says the concept is catching on, it's just not for everybody. "I still have a lot of clients that still prefer to drive around," Lampe said. Whatever a client prefers, Lampe says the point is to do your homework inside and out of the home you're thinking of buying. "I kind of encourage my buyers to actually go into the neighborhood and at least walk around, because you experience the neighborhood in a totally different way than if you're just driving around in a car," Lampe said.
