DENVER - According to a new study, Colorado is the fifth happiest state in the country.
The telephone survey was done by the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index last year.
The survey looked at six categories: a measure of how you're doing now and how you think you'll be doing in five years; your emotional health; how satisfied you are with your job; your physical health; your healthy behavior; and how easy is it to get to your doctor and how satisfied you are with your community.
Hawaii was the happiest state, scoring a 71 out of a possible 100. Wyoming was second, North Dakota was third and Alaska was fourth.
The least happiest state in the U.S. was West Virginia with Kentucky just above it.
