DENVER - With a theme of "Mission: Possible," the oil and gas industry wants to do a better job of engaging with the public.
"In order for the Rocky Mountain region and the country to realize the benefits of the affordable, abundant domestic natural gas and oil resources we have, we must have the public's confidence and support," Tisha Schuller, President and CEO of the Colorado Oil and Gas Association said. "Our 'Mission Possible' for this conference is to engage meaningfully, with transparency, within our communities and with our regulators."
The conference, which is at the Colorado Convention Center, starts Tuesday and goes through Aug. 4.
The forum will highlight social, political and policy support that is needed to keep the public informed. Also, the industries' role in the future of energy and the preparedness of the workforce will be covered.
Governor Hickenlooper and former governors Bill Ritter and Bill Owens are among the speakers.
