Arvada Police say the incident happened on Dec. 4 when the suspect gained access to the cable-area of the King Soopers in the 8000 block of Sheridan Boulevard. The suspect began cutting the cables just after 8 p.m., causing several of the store's systems to fail.

Authorities do not believe the suspect was removing the wiring in an attempt to sell it for scrap. Investigators are working to determine if the incident was part of a burglary or done in an attempt to destroy property. Officers estimate the damage to be about $100,000.

Anyone with information about this crime or tips as to the identity of the suspect should call the Arvada Police Department at 720-898-6900. A reward of up to$1,000 is being made available for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the suspect.
