That's 24-year-old Colorado-native Nathan Finneman.

"I've always been fascinated in flight ever since I was little," Finneman said. "I love it."

Finneman has been paramotoring for only a year. A Paramotor is a powered paraglider consisting of a motor, propeller, harness and a paraglider wing.

Coach Mike Bennett says he's astonished how fast Finneman's picked up the sport.
"He's a natural pilot," Bennett said. "Nathan is a really driven person. He's really getting a hold of it and going 100 percent."

Finneman's been training all over the world. He just got back from Panama City. It's all in preparation for what he's determined to accomplish this year.

In a few weeks, he'll head to France to compete in the World PPG Competition where he'll be up against the best in the sport.

"We'll see how that comes out because Europeans are pretty fast," Finneman joked.

But there's something else that's on his radar.

"Currently, there is no altitude record for any U.S. person," he said. "So my goal is to set the altitude record for the U.S. and then go on and break the world altitude record. It's going to be a challenge. But I've got good people on my team, especially with the altitude that we are at."

Finneman says there are several emotions he goes through while flying, but fear is not one of them.

"People ask me what sitting in a lawn chair at 8,000 feet, what I go through in my mind," he said. "I say when you are an overall pilot you don't think of falling you think about flying."

It's something one may not understand, may not appreciate or may not ever get to experience.

"It's like you're flying a cloud, that's truly that's the best way to describe it," Finneman said.

But for Nathan Finneman, a born pilot and one of those thrill seekers; it's an experience that's changed his views forever. One that will always have him looking to the skies.

"It's hard to explain," he said. "It's a life changing moment. Whenever you're on the ground and you see the clouds, you always wish you were up there."
