According to police, the man went into the First Church of the Nazarene on the corner of East Hampden Avenue and South Colorado Boulevard at 1 p.m. in Cherry Hills Village.
He allegedly took a brand, new Phillips 32-inch television set that was going to be installed in a Sunday school classroom.
The church does not know who this man is and they need help from the public identifying him.
