Bob Hoover was born in 1922 and learned to fly with money that he saved from working at a local grocery store.

He served in the United States Air Force Academy, flying jets, escaping capture in a prison camp and went on to fly aerobatics all over the globe.

He is known as a pioneer of aviation and knew such greats as Orville Wright, Charles Lindbergh and Neil Armstrong.

Bob Hoover will be honored at the Wings Over The Rockies "Tribute to a Fighter Pilot" on Friday, Aug. 24. Proceeds go toward creating permanent exhibits honoring fighter pilots and combat veterans.

You can attend this event by purchasing tickets at www.wingsmuseum.org or by calling 303-360-5360.
