That suspect, Kevin Ryberg, had been arrested on a felony warrant.
The district attorney's office reviewed the shooting. It said that one officer loosened Ryberg's handcuffs, at the suspect's request.
Police say Ryberg came at an officer through an open sliding window in a patrol car and grabbed his taser.
Another officer outside the car shot and killed Ryberg, saying that he was reaching for the first officer's gun.
The DA's investigation found that both officers acted appropriately.
