Mormons praise Romney for spotlighting the faith

The first Mormon presidential nominee of a major political party was credited with helping shine a positive light on the church.

Among those testifying was J.W. "Bill" Marriott, the chairman of Marriott International.

Many Americans have long viewed Mormonism skeptically, and the Salt Lake City-based church has fought for decades for recognition and acceptance.
