Lille Magette served in four campaigns as a tent hospital nurse.
Her family planned a big birthday bash at her retirement community Sunday afternoon.

"I always say 'enjoy life, travel a lot, drink a little of scotch now and then, and just enjoy life, enjoy people,'" Magette said.

Her family says she found herself a widow at a young age.
They say that's when she decided to become a nurse.

She went on to re-marry and start a family.

She lives at a retirement community in Centennial where her daughter, who is also a nurse, is following in her mom's footsteps.
