TransCanada said Wednesday that its new proposal minimizes the potential impact on the sensitive Sandhills region and now goes around two small city well fields. Opponents of the project say they're still concerned.

Bold Nebraska's Jane Kleeb says state and federal officials should block the Keystone XL pipeline if the new route would still crosses the Sandhills and the Ogallala aquifer.

TransCanada did not include a map of the new Nebraska route in its statement. Company officials and state regulators did not immediately return calls Wednesday morning.
