According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, the fire is burning near the intersection of Mount Herman Road and Forest Service Road 716, southwest of the Mount Herman Road and Red Rock Ranch intersection.
Smoke from the half-acre fire is visible from Interstate 25.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says crews are establishing a containment line.
No structures are threatened at this time.
