TrackVia helps its customers make their own apps. "TrackVia is a do-it-yourself application platform for business users. It basically means people with zero software programming knowledge can create applications to run their everyday business," TrackVia CEO Pete Khanna said.
One of the reason TrackVia made Outside Magazine's list of 30 Best Places to Work is because the company offers unlimited vacation time to its employees.
"It's more of an overall philosophy when you think about it. We want to hire people that are accountable. We want people to feel bought into the business and we give them the overall responsibility to manage their time, manage the work that they have to do everyday, and then; they have to manage those results as well. So treating them like adults and putting the overall vision in front of them helps everybody buy in as to what we're trying to do as a business," Khanna said.
The company also offers something they call Personal Passion Scholarships. "We find that if we can support people in their passions outside of work and we find people that are passionate about things outside of work, they actually enjoy what they do more. So TrackVia offers up to $500 annually per employee for those people to pursue those passions," said Khanna.
The scholarship can be used for anything from brewing your own beer to giving to your favorite charity.
Khanna tells 9NEWS that its company's policies make it easy to retain employees as well as hire new ones. "The most important thing is obviously open communication and listening to the people you work with." said Khanna.
