President Barack Obama, who leads Republican rival Mitt Romney in polling on national security issues, may try to change that this fall as he seeks to sway undecided voters and traditional Republican constituencies.

Tuesday marks the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, which left nearly 3,000 people dead and led to wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Polls show Obama leading Romney on terrorism and national security. But both issues are a low priority for voters in an election dominated by the economy.
