Pinehurst Park was on the south side of Quincy Avenue just east of Sheridan Avenue.
A Denver Police officer watched the elk cross back to the north side of Quincy then into an open field. The elk was contentedly walking into what is presumably a more comfortable environment for him by 10:15 a.m.
A few cars stopped on Quincy to watch the unusual sight. The elk was a mature male elk with an impressive looking set of antlers.
