Colorado Springs police pleaded with the public on Wednesday to come forward if they think they have information on how the Waldo Canyon Fire started.
Police say investigators have determined the fire started within three miles of the Waldo Canyon trailhead off U.S. 24, but they didn't get more specific.
Investigators say they want to hold back some information so they can work through more tips as they come in from witnesses.
The public started reporting smoke in the area June 22, but officials couldn't find the source before the wildfire exploded June 23. It went on to damage or destroy 359 homes and kill two people.
Investigators had previously said they believe the fire was caused by a human but haven't identified any suspects.
