In 1982, USA TODAY revolutionized newspapers by adding color photos, graphics and pictures. They're now doing it again on all USA TODAY platforms.

It started Friday with a change in the look of the newspaper, which now looks more like a website. The square logo is now a new, rounded one.

Dave Callaway, Editor in Chief of USA TODAY, was on 9NEWS Friday morning.

"The idea is to give people something new, something refreshed. Make it look more like the Internet than it did before," Callaway said.

The website, which launches Monday, will function more like an iPad. The web and tablet platform will also feature live video coverage and interactive weather mapping.

"On the website, replacing the traditional editorial, we'll have something called 'Your Say.' It will still include the letters but it will also include stuff from the digital age. From Facebook, Twitter and blogs," Callaway said.

This is also part of a broader makeover by Gannett, which owns 9NEWS.

Callaway says USA TODAY will increase the amount of original reporting in its pages and host more videos produced by Gannett's 23 TV stations.

"When you add up all the journalists, including yourselves, it adds up to something like 5,000 journalists. If you put them together, it's like the largest news organization in the world," Callaway said.
