Six men emerged from 7310 W. 48th Avenue, at about 9:55 a.m. No one was hurt in the incident, which began at about 3 a.m. when neighbors reported hearing a number of shots fired.
"We heard a bunch of gun shots, then saw a bunch of cop cars and police scouring the area in front of the duplex," said Chad Harr, 45, whose two-story home offers a good view of the action on his block.
The resident of the rental duplex was known to possess a number of guns, said Lisa Spinder, a spokeswoman for the Wheat Ridge Police Department.
The man came out on the porch and talked with police shortly after they arrived.
