The justice is keynote speaker at the University of Colorado Law School's Gathering of the Bench and Bar Conference.
Last year the speech was given by former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.
Ginsburg's remarks are open to the public, but the event is sold out.
Legal buffs may have been drawn after an unusual appearance by Ginsburg last month, when she took part in a Chicago panel that examined the intersection of opera and the law, listening to a few live performances of some of opera's greatest works.
Ginsburg is known as a great fan of opera, though music is not on the program Wednesday evening in Boulder.
