Tom Clark from the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation spoke to 9NEWS Thursday morning. Clark says we've seen a positive change in the recovery since earlier this year.

"We had a slow start in the beginning of 2012 and we've seen fairly substantial pick up since then. More recent data has shown that among the 350 major metro areas we're the 3rd fastest in job growth", Clark said.

Clark says a lot is coming out of the financial services industry. "There is a major tax flight going on out of the major financial areas, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles." Clark says tax hikes in those areas are to blame.

He says when talking to "out of state" decision makers from major companies, many are looking at the Denver metro area.

"They see our area as a center of innovation and a place to find good talent," Clark said.

Clark says announcements of more businesses coming to the metro area are not too far away.
