Violet brought her 10-month-old cat Rio into the 9NEWS studios to teach us a little something about cat shows and how she plans to prepare for "Fall in the Rockies" cat show this weekend, Sept. 22 and 23.
"You take your cat and they are in cages and then they are taken up to ring where they are judged by several judges. They take them out, they look them over, they make sure they are standard for the breed," Rio's Owner, Jenna Johnson said.
"They can grow up to 28 pounds and Rio is only about 15 right now," Rio's Owner, Jenna Johnson said.
The Fall in the Rockies Cat Show is Sept. 22 and 23. It will be held at the National Western Complex. The hours will be 9 a. m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
