9NEWSis also a proud sponsor of the event which is Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

You can help neighbors in need by donating blood then finishing up your day with a chance to meet and greet Denver Broncos players, alumni and cheerleaders as well as enjoy complimentary stadium food.

Jessica Maitland, Vice President of Marketing and Community Operations for Bonfils Blood Center spoke to 9NEWS Friday morning.

"We take over entire club level of the stadium and people get to see something they normally don't. We have players there all day long, signing autographs. If we are doing our job right you barely notice you are donating blood that day," Maitland said.

No appointment is necessary and all donors age 16 (with parental consent) and older are encouraged to donate. If you plan on participating, please park in Lot C at Sports Authority Field at Mile High and enter the stadium through Gate 2.

Donors who choose to support Drive for Life XV by donating before Oct. 2 are encouraged to schedule a donation appointment by calling 303-363-2300 or by visiting www.bonfils.org.

Bonfils' Colorado Marrow Donor Program representatives will also be available to add potential donors the Be The Match Registry® providing hope to patients suffering from diseases like leukemia and lymphoma. Would-be donors between 18 and 45 will complete a brief health history and consent form and submit a sample of cells through a cheek swabbing technique.
