DU Alumna Sheila Weinberg is the founder and CEO of The Institute For Truth In Accounting. She spoke to 9NEWS Friday morning.
The Institute for Truth in Accounting serves as a watchdog for the federal debt.
"They'll be talking about the trillions of dollars that the country is in debt and some possible solutions," Weinberg said.
Giving presentations will be former U.S Comptroller General, David Walker and former Chair of President Obama's Council of Economic Advisers, Christina Romer. Moderating a question and answer portion will be former Colorado Governor, Richard Lamm.
Weinberg says she hopes the country becomes more involved in the fiscal challenges we face.
The Town Hall Event is Friday, Sept. 21, on DU's campus in the Davis Auditorium in Sturm Hall, 2000 E. Asbury Ave. in Denver. The event is from 6 to 8 p.m.
