His nonprofit organization 2 Million Dogs is advocating for what he calls comparative oncology studies to examine whether there is a link between cancer in canines and cancer in humans.
Robinson points out that pets are exposed to the same environmental factors as humans. Veterinary oncologists believe there are between four and eight million new cases of cancer in pets every year.
Robinson has helped create what his organizations says is the largest "pet and people cancer community in the world."
