A graveside service for Mary Ricard is scheduled for Saturday morning at 10:00 at Mount Olivet Cemetery near Buena Vista.

Ricard was killed while working on her day off. She was supervising inmates preparing breakfast Monday morning.

A second correctional officer, Sergeant Lori Gann, was seriously injured in the same incident. Investigators believe an inmate used a sharp object to attack the officers.

Convicted child rapist Miguel Contreras-Perez, 33, is a person of interest in the attack. He is serving a 35 years to life for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in Colorado Springs.

He has been transferred to the maximum security Colorado State Penitentiary in Canon City.
