Around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, the man's truck slammed into Action Awards at 80th Street and Federal Boulevard. Authorities say somehow the truck made it all the way across without hitting any other vehicles or people.
The man was washing his truck at the car wash near when it started rolling. He turned around to put another quarter in the machine-when he turned back, he saw his truck rolling away.
The truck crossed six lanes of traffic and traveled 70 yards, roughly two-thirds the length of a football field.
No one was inside the truck, but there were four people inside Action Awards when the truck slammed into the building. No one was injured.
The truck was removed from the building at 7 p.m. and repair crews patched up the front wall.
Police cited the driver for failing to activate his emergency brake, which is the equivalent of a parking ticket.
