Chris Daniels is out with a new CD. He's celebrating his 60th birthday, and most importantly, he's doing great after a huge battle with leukemia.
Daniels was on 9NEWS Friday morning. He talked about his battle with cancer. At one point, he says he wasn't sure is he would ever see his 60th birthday.
"Some of the initial diagnosis said there was an 80 to 90-percent chance it was going to return. I got very lucky because my sister was a bone-marrow transplant donor via stem cell. So, I now have her entire immune system," Daniels said.
Daniels had intense chemotherapy and a bone-marrow transplant. He is now in remission.
Chris Daniels and the Kings are legends in Colorado. His new CD "Better Days" is very special to him.
"My son's mother died of cancer when she was very young. So there are sad songs. There are also a lot of songs about hope," Daniels said.
Daniels will be celebrating with his birthday concert at Herman's Hideaway Saturday night September 29, 2012 with some very special guests, including the Bluzinators. Go to http://www.hermanshideaway.com/
