Clínica Tepeyac wants to provide the community with health care at an affordable cost. They specialize in drug and alcohol abuse as well as teen pregnancy and sexually-transmitted diseases.
Nate Sercastre is from the metro area and shared his story with 9NEWS. Several years ago, Nate was diagnosed with HIV.
"I have been a patient at the clinic for three years now. They gave me hope, emotional support and it has continued managing my care since I was diagnosed with HIV back in 2009," Sercastre said.
Clínica Tepeyac has provided basic and preventive health care and health education to tens of thousands of uninsured residents across the metro area. For people like Nate, they gave him support that he could otherwise not afford or receive.
"They gave me support when I needed it the most ... HIV is not a death sentence ... I feel like I have so many goals to accomplish," he said.
Clinica Tepeyac is hosting a fundraising gala on Saturday to raise money to help people like Nate. 9NEWS' Gregg Moss and Belen De Leon will be emceeing the event. It will be held at the National Western Stadium Arena, 4655 Humboldt Street in Denver beginning at 5:30 p.m. More than 500 supporters are expected to celebrate Clínica Tepeyac's legacy of service to the attend the gala.
