A sedan ended up on its roof in a marsh just off eastbound I-76 after hitting a guard rail early Saturday morning.
Police say that guard rail then ended up in the left lane of the highway.
Moments later a truck driver came across the debris, and stopped to call police. As he stopped, authorities say another car hit the back of his truck.
Although the female driver of that car was wearing her seatbelt, the force of the accident took off both driver side doors, ejecting her from the car.
The 29-year-old was flown to a local hospital with critical injuries.
The two people inside the first vehicle were treated and released for minor injuries.
Brighton Police say the man who first drove his car off the road has been ticketed for careless driving resulting in injury, and suspected DUI.
