They're college lumberjacks, and they're OK

But most likely, you've never seen anything like this.

This past Saturday, the Rock Ranch in The Rock, Ga. played host to a collegiate lumberjack competition, featuring teams from UGA, Florida, and Clemson. The teams consisted of forestry students from each of the schools.

Here they compete as friends, but six months from now they'll battle in the annual Southern Forestry Conclave.

This event featured eight lumberjack events, from the axe and knife throw to log rolling to burling.

The whole thing is half-American Gladiators, half-legitimate test of skills. But when the sawdust stops falling, the souls of the students stand out.

"A lot of people don't even know we have a forestry school at UGA," said Georgia junior Erin Daughtry. "So it's nice to get awareness of it."
