Commercials began airing Thursday explaining that the parent company of Channel 9 and Channel 20, Gannett, were in negotiations to continue carrying those stations on the DISH network.

The current Gannett agreement with DISH expired just before midnight on Sunday.

In addition to Denver, Gannett owns TV stations in 18 other cities from Washington D.C. to Sacramento that were also affected by the agreement.

If Gannett and DISH didn't reach a new agreement, it was possible that you would not see Channel 9 or Channel 20 on the DISH system. Service was not disrupted.
