A local woman runs the restaurant, and she recruits her staff from her drug-addiction shelters across Kabul.

She hopes it will help her patients rejoin society, an idea that is considered revolutionary in a country where the treatment options for addicts are very limited.

She opened the shelter after years of caring for her brother - an opium addict.

She opened a shelter for men and another for women and children about a year ago and says hundreds of addicts have passed through their doors since then.
