Joy Milkowski with the DaVinci Institute appeared on 9NEWS Wednesday morning. She talked about the need for strong inventions.

"There is no greater time. We need to know there is opportunity. There are people with ideas and they want to know they can do something with those ideas," Milkowski said.

Milkowski says the the inventors showcase is a platform where people have taken ordinary ideas and gone big with them.

"That's the great thing about this showcase. We really show you how to bring them to market," Milkowski said.

The show highlights a wide range of inventions, from gadgets and gizmos to technology to software.

Milkowski says the the DaVinci Institute is meant to be a community with training resources and mentorships. It is set up to serve as a guide for people.

"Whether you have an invention or an idea, it's really meant to be there as an incubator for your ideas," Milkowski said.

The event is Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at the Denver Merchandise Mart. IT costs $20.
