The Nuggets, SuperMascot Rocky and the Dance Team were welcomed into Gateway High School, located just a mile from the site of the tragic Aurora Shooting. They were there to celebrate the community, and also play a little basketball.
More than 60 Gateway students were at the theater the night of the incident. Sadly, two were shot - one fatally.
The event was exclusive to the Gateway students, faculty and staff.
The Nuggets showcased their skills with a myriad of alley-oops and long range jumpers. Following the game they interacted with the students, signing autographs and even taking a few shots with the players.
Denver plays their next preseason game Friday in San Antonio.
The Nuggets scrimmaged on the Olympians floor. They got up and down for four quarters and also presented the mayor of Aurora with a special commemorative jersey.
