Joseph Donald Losinski from Firestone allegedly used strychnine-laced meatballs to poison two dogs at a home in the 500 block of 5th Street in Firestone on Aug. 8. He and his wife had been living at this address for two-and-a-half months when the incident occurred.

According to the affidavit, Losinski's neighbor, Tesla Dougherty, says she let her two dogs, Kyera and Dozer Boy, out into her yard at 5:30 a.m. When she went to let them in less than 45 minutes later, she said her two dogs were dead.

Losinski will be sentenced Dec. 12 at 1:30 p.m. He faces up to 7.5 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections.
