Two weeks ago, only family, friends and classmates knew Jessica Ridgeway. Her disappearance and the heartbreaking news of her death left many people around the state and nation mourning.
The service will be a happy one, celebrating Jessica's life.
Governor John Hickenlooper and Westminster Police Chief Lee Birk spoke at the memorial service.
"She lived her life the way we should, one day at a time, smiling during as many moments as possible," her cousin Nicholas Pesavento said. "I'd like to make sure that still happens."
Pesavento also thanked the community for their continued support.
"I would like to thank everyone down to the smallest contribution. It has meant so much to our family. There have been thousands upon thousands of people supporting us and supporting Jessica, he said. "She was everything to us - she was the baby of the family. But she was not only, that she was the best part."
The service started at 7 p.m. Space was limited to 3,600 seats.
Faith Bible Chapel is located at 12189 West 64th Avenue in Arvada.
