Rangers say they located the man at 10:30 p.m., roughly one mile from the trailhead.
He was not only in a difficult place to access but had suffered numerous injuries, including a serious one to his lower leg.
It took 10 park staff members to extricate him from the steep, rocky formation. They reached the trailhead at roughly 3:00 a.m.
He was then taken to the Estes Park Medical Center to treat numerous injuries sustained during the fall.
