CSP says the man was riding a Harley-Davidson eastbound on Highway 119, when he tried to pass four vehicles across the double-yellow center line.
The motorcycle successfully passed three vehicles. When the driver tried to merge back into the eastbound lanes, he hit a 2009 Toyota Yaris.
The 29-year-old driver was ejected from his bike and fatally injured on the scene when another vehicle hit him as he lay in the road. The driver had eye protection on, but was not wearing a helmet.
The victim's name will not be released until family has been notified. Drivers in the two other vehicles involved in the crash were not injured.
During the investigation, Highway 119 was closed for four hours. State patrol is investigating excessive speed as a contributing factor to the crash.
